No one gets me

That’s how I’ve often felt in my journey. Over the years, I’ve been surprised to discover that when I share my challenges, people often respond with, “Oh, us too.” It’s a bittersweet realization—so many of us experience the ups and downs of life but walk through them alone. We grieve alone, feel overwhelmed alone, and even find resolutions alone.

Why? Because sharing, although seemingly simple, requires immense courage. It can feel threatening, scary, and risky. By sharing, we risk being judged, abandoned, or misunderstood. But here’s the truth: sharing is essential—not just for surviving, but for thriving. Shame thrives in silence, but it cannot grow when we dare to bring it into the light.

A few months ago, the team at Village Eulogia approached me with an idea: what if we created a blog as a space for sharing? A space where I could share my journey with you, our reader, as a reminder that no one is an island. So, here I am, opening the door to my story and inviting you in.

This blog is meant to be a safe space—a place to hash things out, to find inspiration to continue dreaming and hoping, to see examples of courage, and to glimpse God’s plan for us even as we navigate life as neurodivergent individuals and families. Life is not meant to be just about surviving. We are called to live abundantly and find beauty and purpose in the messiness of life.

My journey is layered. I’m a mother of two incredible kids, a wife, a friend, and someone who is neurodivergent. These aspects of my life shape me but don’t define me entirely—they’re just pieces of the whole. Life in our family can be beautifully messy, filled with unique challenges and unexpected joys. My faith is a mix of triumphs and struggles. And that’s precisely the point of this blog: to remind us of the power of connection through shared stories.

Here, we don’t need to wrap every post in neat "lessons learned" or tie every struggle with a bow of wisdom. Sharing doesn’t have to come only in hindsight; it can be raw and honest, in the middle of the process.

So, who am I? I’m just like you: a daughter, a mother, a friend, a wife, and above all, a child of the King of kings.

As you read these posts, I hope you find echoes of your own story. More than that, I hope this space inspires you to share your journey too. Together, we can remember that we are not alone and that we are made to thrive, not just survive.
